Walking the famous “Hamilton road” .
Between 1928 and 1932 Archie Hamilton, an engineer from New Zealand, built strategic road across Iraqi Kurdistan, which ran from Arbil to the Iranian border. Hamilton hoped the road would unite the local tribes of the area and to bring outside influence in that isolated region.
