Walking the famous “Hamilton road” .
Between 1928 and 1932 Archie Hamilton, an engineer from New Zealand, built strategic road across Iraqi Kurdistan, which ran from Arbil to the Iranian border. Hamilton hoped the road would unite the local tribes of the area and to bring outside influence in that isolated region.

During the Bosnian War the city of Sarajevo was subjected to the longest siege of a capital city in the history of modern warfare ( lasting 1425 days – beginning in April 1992 / 1995 ) ,
The 15th century fortress of Bijela Tabija with this incredible overlooking view of the whole area made it an unfortunate strategic point in the shelling process of the martyr city by the army of Republika Srpska.
