Tskaltubo (Georgian: წყალტუბო) was a busy spa resort during Soviet times and keeps the memory of regular Stalin visits. Nowadays many of the sanatorium complexes have been re-assigned into housing complexes for refugees that have been displaced from their homes because ethnic conflicts in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
